VOW audits

With the adoption of NAR rules for VOWs in the spring of 2009, MLSs face a new challenge, auditing VOWs for compliance. With the shadow of the DOJ over them, MLSs are starting to come to two conclusions: 1) audits must be performed regularly on each VOW (at least yearly) and 2) the audit must be performed by an independent third party using standardized criteria.

Clareity offers two VOW audit services:

VOW Audit Procedure Review. If your MLS already has a VOW site audit procedure established and you wish to continue to perform your audits using in-house staff, Clareity Consulting can perform an independent, objective review of your process.

VOW Audit. This option involves Clareity performing the audits in full using standard criteria, providing a full written report and a follow-up conversation with the broker, AVP and MLS staff to discuss remediation steps if necessary. Clareity can also perform targeted follow-up audits to assess deficiencies found during the initial audit.
